HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Kyle and Ian went for a dive this morning at the Devil's Grotto (?), while Brett slept in until 2 and I cleaned up. We then headed to the beach in the afternoon to celebrate our fourth anniversary with a snorkel, and returned home for snacks and cards. We headed down to the beach just before the fireworks, and were able to see the fireworks go off in town and all the way down the beach (private and from the hotels). We wish you all could be here. Good luck for 2006.

We celebrated our fourth anniversary on the beach...

We went to Seven Mile beach to watch the fireworks from George Town...and all of the private fireworks that lit up the beach.

I worked again this morning while the guys went snorkelling at the Turtle Farm. We then headed off for Stingray city on the Redsail cat. The stingrays were really cool, and one really fell in love with Ian. We were home for dinner, and bbq'ed some steak before watching some stand-up comedy and heading for bed. Kyle and Brett stayed up longer, and even took an adventure to some of the local joints....Jungle Lounge was particularly local...ha ha.

One of the stingrays makes its way over to the guys...who are holding squid.

Today the guys went snorkelling in the morning while I went to work. We then met up and drove upto Rum Point, stopping at the Blow Holes on the way. It was worth the trip! It was so hot today, and the spray from the Blow Holes was quite refreshing! We had a late lunch at Rum Point (I had the traditional jerk pork with rice and beans...really good!), and the guys went for another snorkel while I read.

Kyle finally arrived today... After a very sleepless night for everyone (Kyle forgot his passport in Victoria, and was flying here from Toronto) Kyle was able to board the plane in Toronto, only to be delayed for 2 hours due to technical difficulties. When he finally did arrive, he had to talk his way through customs with an expired passport, and only part of his citizenship papers. Atleast now we can relax!

After opening Christmas presents (thank you everyone!), we sat down for dinner. Posted by Picasa

What a geeky crew! Posted by Picasa

Kyle arrives. His flight was delayed by 2 hours, but atleast they let him stay ; ) Posted by Picasa

MERRY CHRISTMAS

We woke up early and had blueberry waffles before eagerly retiring to the livingroom to open our presents. We each opened them slowly so that they would last longer, and even fought over who would get to be last. The best part was watching Ian complete the scavenger hunt! After Ian and Brett played with their new toys for a while, we packed up the food and drinks and went to the beach for our barbecue. It was great! We hung out at the beach all afternoon, and the guys getting stung by jelly fish couldn't even ruin our day. We just finished a quick swim in the pool, and even got the web cam to work with Mom, Dad and Kyle. I am looking forward to talking to Erik tomorrow! Merry Christmas : )

Looks like Santa was good to us...

"You must have been a bad boy this year, 'cause your present isn't here; Santa must have hid it on you, why don't you go check your work shoe?"

"Tricked again? How can that be? Maybe you should check where we store the tea."

"Getting annoyed? Santa you rock; I have a feeling it's under the clock."

"It's not here, you must be mistaken; maybe he hid it where we keep the bacon?

"Wrong again, this is not the place; But just for fun, check Brett's suitcase."

"It's almost over, you're almost done, I just hope that you've had some fun. Now concentrate hard...use all of your brains; and try to remember where your wet suit hangs."

We were all up early, and had waffles for breakfast.

Brett shows off a useful present...

Now we can finally try our Darjeeling tea. Posted by Picasa

Christmas Eve

Ian and Brett went back to the kite beach in the morning for another great session. This time Brett stayed up on his board for a 300m ride. I stayed home to clean up a little, and do some Christmas wrapping. We then had a quick lunch and headed to town so that I could look through the shops and listen to the Christmas carols. I bought some sunglasses with my winnings, and bought drinks at Breezes (a great bar on the second floor overlooking the George Town harbour). For dinner had steaks on the new barbeque, and watched a movie. We also tried out the web cam for the first time, wishing Ian's parents, uncle and aunt a Merry Christmas in Delhi.

Friday was a great day to start our Christmas holidays! Ian and I had to work in the morning, but it was pretty relaxed, and I even got flowers delivered to me from Grandma and Grandpa. We got home around 1:00, just in time to grab some lunch and head to the kite beach. Brett had a great kite session, getting up on the board for the first time. After it got dark we piled into the car for a tour of the island's Christmas lights. We then finished the day with dinner in George Town at the Lobster Pot. Ian and Brett filled thier craving for seafood with "the pot", the house dish which included tiger shrimp, king crab legs and lobster tail.

We went to check out the Christmas lights around the island.
